Application:
Internal - in gastric and hemorrhoidal bleeding, ulcers, gastritis, increases uterine contractions; enhances appetite and secretion of gastric glands.
Externally: as a hemostatic for fresh wounds, nosebleeds, for gargling for bleeding and inflamed gums, for vaginal lavage. It has anti-inflammatory and hemostatic effects.
The herb is also called white wrist, yarrow or rhinets. Its Latin name is Achillea millefolium.
Description: Perennial herbaceous plant, up to 60 cm high, with leaves - double to triple pinnate, cut; with white flowers (baskets). The whole plant is covered with gray hairs, giving it a whitish-gray color. Blooms May - September.
Chemical composition: Essential oil: chamazulene, cineole, pinene, borneol (inflorescences); sesquiterpene lactones (Achilles tendon), tannins, mucous and bitter substances (leaves), mineral salts, vitamin K, C, flavones.
Preparation: 1-2 teaspoons of the herb is boiled with 250 ml of boiling water, after 10 minutes strain.
Usage: internally - in the form of infusion of 1 cup 3 times daily before meals.
Measure: envelope 100 g.
